Richard Benjamin et James Brolin interprètent deux copains qui se retrouvent confrontés à une réalité simulée devenue bel et bien réelle. Et Yul Brynner incarne leur âme damnée, un prédateur aux éperons cliquetants. C'est le combat entre l'homme et la machine — dans un avenir qui n'est pas assez grand pour les deux.;
