The Mod Squad was a groundbreaking television series which adopted three young personas of counter-culture and placed them in front of millions of people as champions of a movement often viewed in a negative light. The show was known for breaking racial and stereotypical barriers by casting a black man as a lead character opposite a young blonde girl in the 1960s. Produced by Aaron Spelling and Danny Thomas, the show was primarily about the relationships between the three characters and it proved to be extremely successful and an influential show of its era.
