Meanwhile rising support for the FLO on campuses and in the streets stiffens government resolve in Ottawa but Premier Robert Bourrassa wavers in Ouébec. When Laporte’s dead body is found stuffed into the trunk of an abandoned car, the October Crisis boils over. Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau stuns the world as he invokes the War Measures Act and sends the Canadian army into the streets of Montréal.;
