As if this weren't enough, his agent (Alan King) has arranged backing for Ivan's play, but only if a Hollywood diva (Dyan Cannon) stars - and the role she really wants is as Ivan's leading lady. Nominated for a 1982 Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Motion Picture (Comedy/Musical), Pacino is hilarious as the put-upon writer with a heart of gold in this thoroughly entertaining film.
