What to Watch Before Deadpool & Wolverine

Of any Marvel movie to contain exorbitant amounts fan-service-style cameos and supporting characters it would obviously be the fourth-wall-breaking Deadpool's third film, Deadpool & Wolverine. With the return of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, despite his retirement being fairly set in stone with the events of the character's last solo outting 'Logan', we can expect to see other characters return to the big screen for this new movie.

The question remains: "What should I watch before Deadpool 3?" Given that this is a multiverse movie, there are many possibilities so we've put together a list below that might make refresh your memory of beloved characters that might appear in the film.

Well that's something we can't answer for certain just yet, but based on trailers, rumours, leaks, and a good hunch we put together a list of recommended titles to checkout before the blockbuster hits theatres.

1. X-Men Installments

Obviously starting with Deadpool 1 & 2 would be the obvious choice, but we'd also recommend checking out the x-men filmography. Based on trailers and leaks, it is pretty safe to say we'll be seeing some of these characters again.

2. The Pre-MCU Daredevil Franchise

Back when Multiverse of Madness was coming out, there were many rumours of Ben Affleck's Daredevil and Jennifer Garner's Elektra making a return. Those rumours didn't pan out but they've maintained their steady flame. It may even be possible that Marvel heard the outcry for these characters to make an appearance and followed through.

 3. Doctor Strange

Speaking of Multiverse of Madness, in one of the trailers for Deadpool & Wolverine an effect can be seen that appears to be one of Doctor Strange's spells. With the multiverse being a prominent feature of this new x-men movie, it may be worth your while to revisit the Sorcerer Supreme's two cinematic adventures.

 4. Spider-man & The Spider-verse

Yet another Marvel multiverse movie that made a splash in recent years was Spider-man: No Way Home. With continued rumours of Tobey Maguire having a part in future instalments in the MCU, it might be safe to say there is a chance he will be appearing in Deadpool & Wolverine. Adding credibility to this thought is the fact that canonically Spider-man and Deadpool have a unique relationship/friendship so odds are at least one of the several Spider-men might make an appearance.

5. Pre-MCU Blade

Several leaks and rumours recently have suggested that Wesley Snipes would have a supporting role in Deadpool & Wolverine. Reprising his role as Blade would be the first time in roughly two decades that the vampire slayer would be making an appearance on the big screen.

6. Both Iterations of The Fantastic 4

Other rumours over the last year or so have suggested that a certain member of The Fantastic Four would be making an appearance. Oddly enough, that character is played by an MCU staple, Chris Evans. Would it be weird to see an actor already in this universe playing another? Probably but no weirder than that same character also being played by another MCU actor, Michael B. Jordan. That being said, it might be worth it to check out both attempts at The Fantastic Four.

Other considerations:

Ghostrider: With Marvel having the rights back to the character and Nic Cage also making an appearance in yet ANOTHER multiverse movie (The Flash) in recent years it may be worth revisiting this franchise.

Thor: There have been alleged confirmations that Chris Hemsworth would be having a cameo in the film. It is uncertain how extensive his role would be, if at all, but who could complain looking at Chris Hemsworth for a few hours?
